Hospice Education Workshops

Are you a health professional who would like to know more about hospice work? John Taylor Hospice’s Every Question Matters are education workshops aiming to provide some answers.

Every Question Matters education sessions at Birmingham's John Taylor Hospice

The two-hour sessions take place roughly every six weeks at the hospice in Erdington and cover commonly asked questions regarding end of life and hospice care.

Aimed largely at student nurses but open to any health professional, Every Question Matters is facilitated by clinical nurse specialist Sandie Robinson and features presentations, round-the-room discussions and guest speakers.

Areas covered include:

  • The principles and purpose of palliative care
  • Guidance relating to palliative and end of life care
  • Hospice care in the community and in an in-patient unit
  • John Taylor Hospice services for patients and their families
  • Specialties including physiotherapy, pharmacy, occupational therapy and dietetics
  • Medications for end of life care
  • The Macmillan Values Based Standard and how it is applied at the hospice
  • Recommendations for further reading

Every attendee receives a certificate for their personal development folder.
