We are committed to supporting local people with palliative and end of life care at all times. Due to COVID-19 we are aware that our community needs us more than ever which is why, together with other partners, we have developed HoBS, Hospices of Birmingham and Solihull, a service to provide expert end of life care and advice.
HoBS brings together specialists from John Taylor, Birmingham St Mary’s and Marie Curie West Midlands Hospices.
Patients can access rapid and expert advice and care by calling our new single service on:
0121 809 1900
Health professionals can access HoBS by calling:
0121 809 1821
Patients and health professionals can also email [email protected]
A phone call or email to this centre provides access to a team of:
- community specialist nurses
- palliative care consultants
- healthcare assistants
- social workers
- occupational therapists
Operational 24 hours a day and seven days a week during the coronavirus pandemic, the HoBS Team has around 40 end of life specialists on call for people in the community as well as additional teams at the three hospice Inpatient Units.
Working with Birmingham and Solihull CCG and other healthcare providers the team will assess whether patients need advice, community support or admittance for round-the-clock care.
We’ve made this quick film for health professionals as an introduction to our Hospices of Birmingham and Solihull service.
