A message from our CEO Simon Fuller:
Dear Supporter,
I am delighted to bring you your summer issue of Your Hospice Update magazine – bringing you news direct from your local hospices.
This issue is packed with stories from our patients and their families, our hospice teams, fundraisers and ways you can support our charity, whether that’s by adding a leaf to one of our Memory Trees to remember your loved one, taking part in our upcoming events or becoming a volunteer.
This is an exciting time for our charity, as we are almost one year on from our merger which saw Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice, in Selly Park, and John Taylor Hospice, in Erdington, join together to form The Hospice Charity Partnership. By merging our much-loved charities, we are ensuring that expert end of life and palliative care is available for everyone across Birmingham and Sandwell. Providing the best healthcare possible for our patients will always remain our top priority and, by moving forward together as one organisation, more pennies in the pound can be spent directly on services for local people.
I am so proud of everything our charity, our people and our supporters have achieved in this time. Despite the numerous challenges faced by charities and the healthcare sector throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, we have continued to work together to ensure that our patients still receive the best care possible.
All of our supporters help us make a difference for hundreds of families each day and I would like to thank you personally for helping to ensure that hospice care continues to be there for people when they need it most.
I hope you enjoy the read!
With best wishes,
Simon Fuller
CEO of The Hospice Charity Partnership
